Jeff Weiner and Ryan HowardAs I was going through some photos I took of the keynote at last year’s Web 2.0 Expo, Jeff Weiner’s cute little mug began to seem strangely familiar….

Yep, Jeff was (is? not sure what his facial hair is doing these days) a dead ringer for Ryan Howard, as played by B.J. Novak on The Office. I don’t *think* the character is directly based on Weiner, but it would be rather appropriate if it was. On the show, Ryan is constantly pushing the Dunder Mifflin Infinity website onto the Scranton branch, even though it’s rife with issues. Note the similarities:

Ryan rests his entire career on the success of the website, which ultimately leads to ruin when he’s arrested for double booking orders, a.k.a. fraud.

In any case, as Oscar so aptly puts it in the season finale: “His real crime? The beard.”
